Meet Patrick Eubanks

When did you start working at Kingsburg Orchards?

I started with the company in 2004. I worked in the shipping department, on the packing line, and in Quality Control from 2004 to 2006 while I was at Reedley College. After 2 years away from agriculture and finishing at school at Fresno State, I joined the Kingsburg Orchards sales team in 2009 and have been here ever since.

What makes you passionate about stone fruit?

I grew up in a family who farmed. My Dad has been a grower of stone fruit and Apple Pears, among other commodities, for his whole life. I have been a part of the growing, the packing, and shipping parts of the fruit industry; I very much like the sales and marketing aspect of the business because this is the activity that turns fruit into dollars...

What advice would you offer someone starting in your position?

Be confident, but be very humble - always know you have more to learn. Only work at your own pace - do not be pressured into making a decision too quickly. Always remember that the “hold” button is your friend.

What are your top 3 favorite varieties?

TOP 3 PLUOT VARIETIES: RED PHOENIX, SUGAR RED DINO, EMERALD SWEET

What do you like to do when your not working in stone fruit?

Watch football. I would watch football all year if I could be paid to do it. The most depressing time in my life is between the second the Super Bowl ends to kickoff of week 1 in September.
